Carol Jean (Wall) Evans

Carol Jean (Wall) Evans, longtime Okmulgee pharmacist, died Sunday morning, January 4, 2004 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital at the age of 61. She was born July 22, 1942 in Enid to the late George William and Jennie (Raynor) Wall. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy in 1967. She married Roger Lee Evans on July 20, 1968 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Carol was a pharmacist at Key Rexall Drug in Okmulgee for thirty years prior to retiring. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Pony Girls, and enjoyed crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roger and a son, Kevin Scott Evans. Survivors include her son, Randy Evans, of the home, a brother, George Richard Wall of Enid, mother and father-in-law, Howard and Mary Ellen Evans of Sherman, Texas, brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Maria Evans of Shawnee, Donna and Billy Dollarhide of Sherman, and Marty and Elaine Evans of Big Cabin, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 9:30 A.M. Thursday, January 8, 2004 at the First Christian Church with Minister Charlie Green officiating. Graveside rites will be at 3:00 P.M. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Casketbearers will be Jerry Cooper, C. Fred Burks, Dana Moudy, Russ Moudy, Jeff Wertman, and Kyle Gregorio. Viewing will be Wednesday 9-8 at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Parkinsonís Disease Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
