Joe Wayne Ewing, of Okmulgee, died Sunday morning, August 20, 2006 at the age of 54. He was born October 6, 1951 in Muskogee to Joe Bailey and Betty Jo (Crossland) Ewing. Joe worked for W.N. Couch Construction and enjoyed remodeling homes. He loved motorcycling, rock climbing, water skiing, scuba diving and boating, and was a member of the Harley Owners Group and the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jess and Gertrude Crossland. Survivors include his children, Tara, Joe Clinton and Jason Ewing, all of Jenks, and Travis Ohls of Tulsa, father and step-mother, Joe and Mildred Ewing of Muskogee, mother and step-father, Betty and Jim Frank Sloan of Okmulgee, a sister, Donna Jo Cagle of Okmulgee, half-brother, Rick Ewing of Muskogee, nieces, Betty Rose of Okmulgee and Bailey Ewing of Muskogee, nephews, Chris Cooper of Glenpool and Kelson Ewing of Muskogee and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joe will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 25, 2006 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee with Mr. Jim Waller officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 9-8 P.M. and the family will receive friends from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
