Betsy Jeanetta Factor

Betsy Jeanetta Factor, lifelong Okmulgee resident, died Saturday morning, January 28, 2006 at her home. She was born November 25, 1927 in Okmulgee to Topley and Lizzie (Foster) Powell. Betsy loved sports and had played basketball and was a softball catcher. She had also been an official basketball referee. She also enjoyed crocheting and was the 2002 Senior Ms. Muscogee (Creek) Nation. She had worked in the Creek Nation Senior Citizens Gift Shop and was a member of the Big Cussetah Indian United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Factor, two sons, a daughter, a granddaughter, two sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include nine children, Linda Scott of Holdenville, Doris Roanhorse of Okmulgee, Gloria Lowe of Tulsa, Sarah Wolf of Edmond, Joe Factor of the home, John Factor of the home, Bonnie Factor of the home, David Factor of Tulsa and Dean Factor of Tulsa, 11 grandsons, 16 granddaughters, 28 great grandsons, 20 great granddaughters, 6 great great grandsons, and one great great granddaughter. A wake service will be held 7:30 P.M. Monday evening and funeral service 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Big Cussetah Indian United Methodist Church with the Reverend Nelson Scott Harjo officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Cussetah Cemetery with Gino Roanhorse, Barry Lowe, Jr. Barnes, Vincent Lowe, Jr. Scott, Anthony Peters, Brian Factor, Reuben Factor, Chris Factor, David Factor, Jr., and Jason Factor serving as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers will be T.J. Wolf, Rusty Lowe and Billy Vanstraten. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
