McCLENDON-WINTERS FUNERAL HOME "Dignity without Compromise"
Darrel Duane Fairchild Darrel Duane Fairchild, 68, of Okmulgee,
died Friday evening, February 23, 2007 at St. Francis
Hospital in Tulsa. He was born on November 28, 1938 in Leoti,
Kansas to Lenard Fairchild and Thelma Fairchild. He attended
grade school at Russell Springs, Kansas. He graduated from
Scott City, Kansas High School in 1956. He graduated from
Garden City Jr. College in 1959. He met and married Dorothy
Ann Baier on February 24, 1960 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
in Garden City, Kansas. He moved to Okmulgee from Garden
City in 1970. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic
Church in Okmulgee and was also a member of the church
choir, Knights of Columbus – 3rd Degree, and an
active member of the Green Country youth summer baseball
program. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and
Lenard Fairchild, and a granddaughter, Madison Lee.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; son,
Sheldon and wife Sherri of Depew, OK; daughter, Lisa and
husband Clay Lee of Las Vegas, Nevada, five grandchildren,
Ashley Fairchild, Kyle Fairchild, Morgan Fairchild, Cayla
Lee, and Maclane Lee; three sisters, Vada Turley of Scott
City, Kansas, Verla Sanders and husband Tom of Wichita,
Kansas, and Delma Calvin and husband Max of Wakeeney,
Kansas. A prayer service will be held 7:00 P.M. Monday
evening at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel and a
mass of Christian Burial will be held on 10:30 A.M.,
Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at the Uganda Martyrs Catholic
Church. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery.
