MARY FRANCES FARNED

Mary, known by family and friends as Mickey was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Pounds Valley, Ok. And passed away May 12, 2006 at age of 82. Mickey moved with her family to Okmulgee at approximate age of 5 years old.

Mickey was married George Evans Farned for 58 years, working side by side in the operation of their dairy South of Okmulgee for many years.

For a period of time she worked at Okmulgee Hospital, but her life’s work was being the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend that one could ever ask for.

Mickey and Evans were a great influence in the lives of many young people.

Mickey was preceded in death by her husband George Evans, parents Oscar and Minnie Gasaway, brothers Leo, Lee and Harold Gasaway.

She is survived by her son and wife, Dale and Sue Farned, grandson and wife Marvin and Shari Farned, one great-granddaughter Megan Farned, two great-grandsons Cody and Billy Farned all of the Okmulgee Area. One sister and husband Wanda and Jim Stevenson of Wynnewood, OK. Two sisters in law Katherine McCormack of Texas and Elizabeth Purvine of Okmulgee. Numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday May 15, 2004 at 10 am in the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Gasaway officiating. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to mcclendon-winters.com
