Clifford Allen "Sonny" Farr

Clifford Allen "Sonny" Farr, lifelong Okmulgee resident, died Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 74 years of age. He was born to the late Clifford Lee and Marjory (Turner) Farr on December 17, 1928 in Okmulgee. He was united in marriage to Donna McElvany on June 5th, 1966 in Preston. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea for 4 years, where he was a Private First Class and left with honorable service. He worked for A&M Electric until it closed and was then employed by the Okmulgee Public Schools as a custodian until his retirement in 1992. He was there for 23 years. Clifford was a member of the Grace and Truth Church in Okmulgee.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, and a younger sister, Caroline Jean Shahan.

Survivors include his wife, Donna V. Farr of the home, two daughters, Tamie R. Combs and her husband Paul of Salem, Oregon and Cheryl Riley of Oklahoma City, three sons, Charles W. Streight and wife Susan of Okmulgee, Davy D. Streight and wife Lisa of Okmulgee and Gary E. "Buddy" Streight of Okmulgee, three sisters, Wanda L. Owen of Webber Falls, Sue Longsteath of Bethany, and Wilda Kelse of Okmulgee, one brother, Charles L. Farr of Choctaw, and a half brother, Kenneth "Butch" Farr of Texas, and twelve grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 30, 2003 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Everett Parson officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Will, Justin, Davey, Levi, and Gary Streight and Paul Combs. VFW Post 1189 of Okmulgee and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta will conduct Graveside Military Honors. Friends may visit the funeral home from 9-8 P.M. on Wednesday and until the funeral hour on Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
