Esther Joyce Vance Featherston was born to Zeb B. and Ella Nora Gattis Vance in Fittstown, Oklahoma, on November 25, 1938, the youngest of their six children. She passed away July 11, 2005, in Columbia, Tennessee.
Esther was a graduate of Shidler, Oklahoma, High School and attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee. A former resident of Okmulgee and Morris, Esther had lived in Tennessee for the last 12 years.
Esther Featherston was predeceased by her parents, her husband Maurice Featherston, her former husband Bill Packwood, and brothers Cecil B. (Bo) Vance and Howard Vance. She is survived by daughter Leslie Packwood Chamberlain and husband Jerry of Bath Springs, Tennessee; son Rusty Packwood and grandchildren Layton and Kasey Jo Packwood of Clifton, Tennessee; sisters Ruth Shelton and Lucille Harwell of Morris; brother Everett Vance of Stillwater; sisters-in-law Edith Vance of Morris and Lois Vance of Ponca City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Morris is scheduled for Thursday morning, July 14, followed by graveside services at 2 p.m. in the Morris Cemetery Chapel, Morris, Oklahoma. Rev. Jack Vance will officiate.
