Helen Fitzgerald 87, longtime resident of Okmulgee died in Okmulgee on Saturday, May 3, 2003. She was born in McCroy, Arkansas to Elvis and Ada Mae (McClain) Holmes on October 3, 1915. She was a homemaker. Her parents, husbands, two sons Frank and Jerry Roberds, five sisters and one brother, one grandchild and one great grandchild preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter and husband Alice and Bill Spicer of Tulsa, two sons and wives Terry and Diane Roberds of Amboy, Indiana and George and Judy Roberds of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, two daughters in law Betty Roberds of Beggs, Oklahoma and Letha Roberds of Hillsboro, Missouri, three brothers Morris Holmes of New York, James Holmes and Ebb Holmes both of Arizona, two sisters Ima House of Arkansas, and Ida Ray Middleton of Arizona, fourteen grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at 10 am at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Rev. E.E. Jenkens will officiate. Burial will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 10-8 pm.
