Howard E. Frederick

Howard E. Frederick, 79, passed away in his home on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, with his loving wife Betty, by his side. Mr. Frederick was born on June 6, 1926, in Rosebud, AR, to Gladys (Spradling) and J.O. Frederick. The family moved to the Okmulgee area in 1934.

Howard graduated from Nuyaka High School in 1944 and joined the Army in December of that year, serving in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, Howard attended Oklahoma A&M Tech (now OSU-Okmulgee), and graduated in 1948. He joined the Post office in 1950, retiring in 1969. Howard (fondly known as Fred) opened Fredís Motor Company in 1952, selling and servicing Harley-Davidson and later Honda Motorcycles. He married Betty Ann George in November 1957.

Howard was preceded in death by his oldest son, Brian, in 1973, and by his parents and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife Betty, of the home; son, Kenneth Dale and his wife Beth of Fort Smith, AR; daughter Janna and husband Sean Walker of Konawa, OK; and daughter Julie and husband Todd Trantham of Morris, OK; eight grandchildren, and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, at Okmulgee Cemetery with Gene Thompson officiating.
