McCLENDON-WINTERS FUNERAL HOME "Dignity without Compromise"
Reverend Fay Robinson "F.R." French Reverend Fay Robinson "F.R." French, 83, Okmulgee resident
passed away on Monday, April 4, 2005 in Tulsa, OK. He was born on February 14,
1922 in Dyer County, TN to Mattie Augusta (Robinson) and James Luther French.
Reverend French married his wife Louise Morgan on April 3, 1949 in Oklahoma City
They spent that evening and the following years as Ministers. Mr. French was a
chaplain in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the USS Centuris. With over Fifty years
in the service of the Lord and thirteen churches pioneered these are some of the
churches he was involved in Chaplain of the USS Centuris, Coyle, OK, Bellville,
MI , South Bend, IN, Rochester, IN, Knox, IN, Perkins, OK, Garber, OK, Mustang,
OK, Tullahoma, TN, Sidonia, TN, Eastside Assembly of God now New Life Assembly
of Okmulgee, OK, Abington, VA, North Tenth Street Enid, OK New Life Assembly in
Okmulgee. He was also very involved in the General Council of the Oklahoma
Assemblies of God, he worked with the Ministerial Alliance in Okmulgee, he went
to Russia three times with his son as a missionary he was member of the
Carpenter Union which he served as the business agent, he loved to play checkers
he won a Bronze Medal in the Senior Checker Championship. He also liked to golf
when he was able. He was preceded in death by his parents James Luther and
Mattie Augusta French and brothers and sisters Survivors include his wife of 56 years Louise (Morgan) French
of the home, a son Reverend James Mikel French pastor of the Eastland Assembly
of God and a missionary to Russia of Broken Arrow and a daughter Marsha McDaniel
of Okmulgee three grandchildren Bobby McDaniel of Okmulgee Reverend Jonathan
Mikel French of the Calvary Church in Atlanta Georgia and Makesha Dawn McDaniel
of Okmulgee, a brother Curtis Everett French of TN and a sister Sarah Noel of
Memphis, TN. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2005
at the First Assembly of God in Okmulgee with Reverend Jimmie Ledgerwood
bringing the Eulogy, Reverend Jim McNabb will bring the message, Reverend Phil
Taylor will provide the Music and Reverend Mike Taylor will be remarks for the
family. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of
the McClendon-Winters funeral Home in Okmulgee. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
#1189 and #539 will be providing military honors. Casketbearers will be Hugh
Holmes, T.C. Morgan, Larry Hall, Greg Grogan, Sergio Nava, Shawn Nava, Jimmy
Noel, Randy French. Honorary casketbearers will be Leroy Kelley and Donald
Whitis Bobby McDaniel, Reverend Jonathan Mikel French and Makesha McDaniel. Viewing will be on Wednesday April 6, 2005 at the Funeral
Homes Chapel from 12 noon until 8:00 PM.
