Michael Wayne (Mike) Gardenhire 54, a resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee
on Thursday, May 1, 2008. He was born in Rheinland-Pfalz, Bad Kreuznach, Germany
on February 16, 1954 to Clyde and Mary Jo (Hallum) Gardenhire. He attended
school and graduated from Okmulgee High School Class of 1972. Mike worked in
maintenance at OSU Okmulgee, before becoming disabled. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, bowling and taking his nephews to ball games. His dad, Clyde and mother
in law, Helen Barras preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Jo Gardenhire of Okmulgee, a daughter, Amy
Gardenhire of Okmulgee, a son, Mathew Gardenhire of Wainwright, OK. his
children’s mother, Debbie Summers of Wainwright, OK, a sister, Donna and her
husband Lindall Craddock of Beggs, two brothers, Allen and wife Debbie
Gardenhire of Okmulgee and Ron and wife Carol Gardenhire of Little Canada,
Minnesota, his father in law, Ken Barras of Corinth, Texas, 19 nephews and
nieces and 18 great nephews and nieces and a host of aunts, uncles and other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 2 pm at the
McClendon-Winters Chapel with Pastor Fred Jones officiating. Burial will be in
the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, 12-8 PM at the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Charlie Dildine, Chip
Dildine, R.D. Morrow, Roy Rainbolt, Ernie Furer, and Jeremy Miller.
