Max Ray Goodman
Max Ray Goodman, 70, a resident of Okmulgee, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 in Okmulgee. He was born to Russell and Eunice Goodman in Oklahoma City on June 13, 1934. He attended Classen High School, OSU and OCU before entering the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He met and married his wife of 48 years, Sue Johnson Goodman.
Max was associated with Trice Wholesale Electronics. He moved to Okmulgee in 1957 to manage the Trice Store. He retired after 40 years of working in the electronics field. He will be fondly remembered as an avid sportsman. Playing baseball and fast pitch softball, bowling, golf and his true love, waterfowl hunting. Max was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Okmulgee Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in law Charlie and Velma Johnson, Brother in law L.E. Shedan Jr., son in law Tom Carney and numerous friends.
Survived by his wife Sue, daughters Pam McCabe, Lori Jones and husband Rex; four grandchildren, Patrick and Katy Carney, Kelli and Natalie Jones, his sister in law Joyce Sheldon of Texas and nephew Dean, nieces Lisa and Sandi Sheldon.
The celebration of life service will be Monday, May 23, 2005, 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church. Jack Shock and Rev. Craig Denslow will officiate. His family will receive friends after the service in the Church Library.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital Hope Unit.
