Mildred Green, longtime resident of Beggs, Oklahoma, died January 2, 2003 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 86. She was Born July 27, 1916 to Roy Johnson Hodges and Mattie Mabel O’Neal Hodges in Nuyaka, OK. She married Norman Alfred Green on December 4, 1937 in Bristow, OK. She worked as a school cafeteria cook and retired as a cook from the Beggs Nursing Home. She was a Homemaker for many Years.

Mrs. Green enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She was an avid quilter and loved flower gardening. She was a member of the Osage Hill HCE for 52 years and was currently serving as President. She was a member of the former Iris Flower club of Beggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years, and two brothers Robert Hodges and Harold Hodges, two sisters-in-laws Anna Hodges and Mildred Hodges.

Survivors include

her four children Joann Shelton and husband Wesley of Slick, OK, Norma Nell Maas and husband Clarence of Morris, OK, Ed Green and wife Sharon of Mannford, OK and Ronnie Green and wife Mary of Beggs, OK,

one Brother Neal Hodges of Houston, TX,

Two sisters-in-law, Lucy Hodges of Springfield, MA, and Juanita Hodges of Okmulgee,

Ten grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren, and

numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at the Beggs Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Wilburn officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, January 6, 2003 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Beggs.

Her Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
