Joe Allen Greene, longtime Morris resident, died Saturday, January 15, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 71 years of age. Joe was born October 19, 1933 in Muskogee to John Murray and Lura Gertudy (Robertson) Greene. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1955. He married Carol Jean Manos on August 11, 1989 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Joe was a member of the First Christian Church of Morris and was a printer, retiring from Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee in February 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Greene, Ewing Greene, Charles Greene, and Daniel Greene and a sister, Hazel Greene. Survivors include his wife, Carol J. Greene of the home, children, Jessica Puckett and Randall Puckett, both of the home, Allen Greene of Healdton, Oklahoma, Author Greene and wife Mira of Owasso, and Gayle Molander and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, step-children, Teresa Wright and husband Dennis of Beggs, Timothy Wofford and wife Lois of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Jamie Wofford and wife Barbara of Choteau, and Randy Wofford of Claremore, Oklahoma, brothers, William Greene and wife Francis of Poteau, Oklahoma, Edward Greene and wife Lila of Oakley, Kansas, Thomas Greene and wife Sue of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Leonard Greene and wife Janice of Poteau, sisters, Lois Whitney of Tulsa, Jean Potts of Poteau, Helen James of Owasso, and Cathy Baker and husband Angus of Holdton City, Texas, an aunt, Hazel Robertson, six grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 21, 2005 at the Morris Cemetery Chapel with Elder John Reich officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 10-8 P.M. Thursday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
