DeWanda Hankins

DeWanda (Weatherford) Hankins, formerly of Poteau, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in Folsom, California at the age of 76. She was born November 5, 1931 in Poteau to the late Vernon and Birdie (Danner) Weatherford. She graduated from Poteau High School and later made her home in California. DeWanda is survived by two sons, Mark Hankins and wife Lisa and Lamont Hankins, all of California, two brothers, Joe Weatherford and wife Sue of Miami, Oklahoma and Glenn Weatherford and wife Ann of Henderson, Tennessee, three nieces, Sherrie Hulse and husband Mike of Tulsa, Shelly Weatherford of Overland Park, Kansas and Susan Weatherford of Oklahoma City, and a nephew, John Weatherford of Oklahoma City. A committal service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Poteau with the Reverend Phil McGehee officiating.
