Gladys Mae Henry

Gladys Mae Henry, longtime Mounds resident, died Wednesday, morning, January 9, 2008 at Glenpool Health Care Center. She was 82 years of age. Mrs. Henry was born the youngest of twelve children on March 4, 1925 in Porter, Oklahoma to Ollie and Berthine (Ellington) Elkins. She married Roy Leonard "Hank" Henry in December 1946. For many years, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mounds. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eleven siblings. Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Sturman and husband Jay of Mounds and Becky Grubb and husband Bill of Tulsa, five grandchildren, Bryan Sturman and wife Beth, Daniel Sturman and wife Stephanie, Dana Weart and husband Jeremy, David Grubb and Deanna Grubb, a great grandchild, Dylan Sturman, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, January 11, 2007 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Dick Knox officiating. Committal services will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery Pavilion in Mounds. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
