"Dignity without compromise"


Berwyn Franklin Henry 80, died in Okmulgee on Thursday, October 31, 2002. He was born on September 15, 1922 in Davenport, Iowa to Frank Peter and Zelma Jane (Westrum) Henry. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and took part in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, after his separation from the Army he joined the Air Force, where he was a 2nd. Lieutenant and was discharged in 1951. He married Gene LaRue in Concord, California on September 2, 1950. Mr. Henry retired as a Desk Clerk for the Belmont Hotel in Okmulgee. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Okmulgee. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife Gene of the home, one daughter Charleen Ray and her husband James of Okmulgee and three grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made in Mr. Henry’s name to the Trinity Lutheran Building Fund or the Bell Tower Fund, 1314 E. 6th. Okmulgee, Oklahoma 74447.

Services are pending with the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
