Robert R.C. Henson

Robert R.C. Henson, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center in Muskogee. He was 77 years of age. Mr. Henson was born October 29, 1928 in Liberty Hill, Texas to George R.C. and Florence (Mienke) Henson. He married Juawana Martin on July 25, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they moved

to Okmulgee in 1976. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church and was a retired electrician. He was a volunteer transport officer for the Sheriff’s Department in Okmulgee for several years, a member of the Okmulgee Round-Up Club, the Mounted Patrol, and a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Claude and Dick Henson, and two sisters, Viola Ulrich and Alice Martin.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Juawana Henson of Okmulgee, his children, Jeannie Sitton of Okmulgee, Nancy Grant of Henderson, Nevada and Robert Henson, Jr. and wife Julie of Okmulgee, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, May 19, 2006 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Palm Mortuary and Memorial Park in Henderson, Nevada. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
