Helen Virginia Henson
Helen Virginia Henson, 92, lifelong resident of Beggs, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 25, 2003. She was born in Beggs on November 10, 1911 to Jarvis and Mary Eveline (Harris) Harvey. She married James Melburn Henson on August 27, 1923 in Beggs and together they ran many businesses including Hensonís General Store. She loved to garden and work in her beautiful flowerbeds. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one son, James M. (Buz) Hesnon and wife Lena of Beggs, two daughters, Dolores Ann Rucquoy and husband Ferd of Okmulgee and Sharon Elizabeth Mock and husband Richard of Sand Springs, one brother, Ralph Harvey of Beggs, eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2003 at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Beggs with Brother Clint Sinclair officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will Jack Harvey, Larry Harvey, Tom Holcomb, Pat Trent, Martin Mount, and Gary Jackson. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Baptist Childrenís Home in care of the funeral home or the charity of the donorís choice. The family will receive friends from 7-8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
