William Franklin "Bill" Hill

William Franklin "Billí Hill, of Beggs, died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa. He was 84 years of age. Bill was born March 25, 1921 in McKey, Oklahoma to Frank and Jennie (Thomason) Hill. Bill worked 25 years at Midwest Chevrolet as service manager and retired as supervisor of claims adjusting from Mid Continent Casualty Co. after 19 years. He also was a Beggs School bus driver until 1998. He was a Little League baseball coach for 40 years, a member of the First Baptist Church of Beggs, Beggs Round Up Club, and the Companion Dog School. Bill loved his animals and playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Judy (Koch) Hill of the home, a son, Jerry Hill and wife Shirley of Twin Hill, a daughter, Frankie Ferrier and husband Glenn of Bixby, step sons, Mike Whitmire of Beggs and Rick Whitmire and wife Jennifer of Atlanta, GA, the mother of his children, Savola Swanson of Beggs, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Beggs with Reverend Fred Williams and Thom Chappelle officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Steve Hill, Bill Hill, Rick Whitmire, Mike Whitmire, Steve Bright and Jim Wilson. Honorary Casketbearers will be Willis Hall, Jerry Hunter, Carl Hawthorne, and Bill Ross. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1189 of Okmulgee and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta. The family will receive friends from 7-8 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
