Richard E. Hodge
Richard E. Hodge, 64, passed away at a Tulsa Hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2006. He was born on October 6, 1941 in Schulter, OK to Leonard and Lydia (Bullard) Hodge. He was a 1960 Graduate of Schulter High School and later joined the United States Army. He retired with almost 30 years in the Army. He spent time in Germany and he spent 2 and a half years in Vietnam. He worked several years as a reserve deputy for the Okmulgee County Sheriffs office, he also worked as a Court Deputy, and while doing this he added a second job working at the Okmulgee Wal-Mart Store as a security guard.
Survivors include his wife Patricia (Wasson) Hodge, three sons and their wives; Richard Raymond and Laura Hodge of Enid, Richard Eugene and Nancy Hodge II of Canton, NC and Daniel Ray and Kim Hodge of Tulsa. Four Brothers Ned Hodge, Chester Hodge both of Okmulgee, Jim Hodge of Ark., George Hodge of California. Six grandchildren also survive Phillip Hodge, Bryan Hodge, Eric Hodge, Sky Hodge, Chance Hodge and Jacklyn Hodge. Other survivors are many nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Schulter First Baptist Church with Reverend George Christy officiating. Interment will follow in the Lenna Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
Viewing will be on Monday, February 20, 2006 from 12 noon until 8:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Homes Chapel. Friends and family may send condolences at www.mcclendon-winters.com
