Jerry C. Holland

Jerry C. Holland passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was born in Council Hill, OK to Henry (Pat) and Inez (Hicks) Holland on November 21, 1933. He graduated from Morris High School as salutatorian in 1952. After high School he went into the Marine Corps for three years. During his assignment in Lincoln, Nebraska, he met Jo Ann Glaze and they were married in Wichita Falls, TX in 1956. Jerry had a 36-year career in Civil Service, which took him and his family to Muskogee, OK and the Corpus Christi Army Depot in 1989. Jerry and Jo Ann moved to Morris, OK in 1991. He was and Eagle Scout and a member of the Golden Arrow. An avid fisherman and hunter, he also was a NASCAR and football spectator. Jerry was a member of the Classic Antique Stock Tractor Association (CASTA), which he shared with his grandson Patrick. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Morris, OK.

Preceding him in death were his parents and in-laws Mr. & Mrs. Ernest Glaze. Survivors include his wife Jo Ann, three children Tammy and husband Lee Tuttle of Corpus Christi, TX, Butch Holland of Okmulgee and Yvonne Holland of Morris, OK, one grandson Patrick Tuttle of Corpus Christi, TX, one sister Rita and husband Ralph Johnston of Morris, three brothers Lloyd Holland of Morris, Gene and wife Zina Holland of Houston, TX and Donald and wife Billie Holland of Mansfield, LA and an aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Morris with Rev. Nathan Mattox officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday 12-8 pm with the family being at the funeral home 6-8 pm in Okmulgee. Burial will be in the Council Hill Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee. The family suggests donations be made in Jerry’s name to the First Methodist Church of Morris, OK Memorial Fund, or to your favorite charity.
