Guy Paul Hunt

Guy Paul Hunt, Beggs resident, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at his home in Beggs. He was 52 years of age. Guy was born June 3, 1953 in Ponca City to Jack and Gladys M. (Smith) Hunt. Guy was a self taught musician, starting at the age of 9 and was on the road playing professionally in 1970 and retiring in 1985. Guy had lived in Washington and Alaska for 10 years prior to moving to Beggs in September 2005. He was a police officer in Arkansas and Alaska as well as a firefighter and had been a licensed chaplain. He was a HAM radio operator, member of the civil defense and ARRL. Guy loved old movies, astronomy and his dogs, and throughout his life helped a lot of people through his music and testifying. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Charles Ray Hunt. Survivors include his wife, Carol, of the home, mother, Gladys Hunt of Fairbanks, Alaska, step-son, Jimmy Reese of Siloam Springs, step-daughter, Amanda Ward of Watts, a brother, Richard Hunt of Springdale, a sister, Brenda Worley of Hinesville and one grandchild. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Beggs Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
