Buddy Lee Hurst, Jr., loving father,
husband and son, age 41, went to live with Jesus on April 3,
2008. Buddy and his father owned Poor Boys Used Cars. Buddy
was born in Dayton, Texas to Buddy Hurst, Sr. and Mary Anna
(Payne) Hurst on March 25, 1967. They moved to Okmulgee when
Buddy was 2 years of age. Buddy graduated from Wilson High
School and was a member of Christ the King Church of
Restoration. Buddy started working with his father at the
Derby Station in Okmulgee before owning and operating Poor
Boys Used Cars for the past 21 years. He was preceded in
death by his paternal grandparents, Perry and Eular Hurst,
maternal grandparents John and Lona May Payne, and his good
friend, Kenny Livingston. He is survived by his wife of 21
years, Judy, one son, Buddy Lee Hurst III, one daughter,
Mercedes Layne Hurst, father, Buddy Hurst, Sr. and longtime
friend, Donna Turman, mother and step-father, Mary Anna and
Stephen Cashdollar, all of Okmulgee, a sister and
bother-in-law, Sherri and Robert Wamyo of Sapulpa, a brother
and sister-in-law, Kye Lane and Greta Hurst of Okmulgee,
mother and father-in-law, Milissia and Bill Smith of
Okmulgee, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Billy
Smith, Rachel Smith and Tammy and Jon Chastain, numerous
nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his warriors,
Wayne and Marilyn Ramer and Rebecca Koenig, and very special
friends, Kevin, Angela and Kaylee Reed, Bill Stange, David
and Jamie McCoy, and Angela McCall.
Funeral services will be held 2:00
Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Crosstown Pentecostal Holiness
Church with Reverends Raymond Shann and Jimmy Lopez
officiating. Casketbearers will be Kevin Reed, Bill Stange,
Buddy Hurst III, Wayne Ramer, Stanley Tarkington, Meech
Bagby, Eddie Ausbrooks and David McCoy. Honorary
Casketbearers will be Larry Simpson, Brad Casey, Mark
Montgomery, Kendrick Caywood, Myron Bagby, Robert Ramirez,
Chris Henshaw, Joe Henshaw, Jamie McCoy, and Angela McCall.
Friends may visit the funeral home on
Tuesday from 9-8 P.M. and Wednesday until 11:00 AM.
