Lillie Ivon Huskey
Lillie Ivon Huskey, longtime Okmulgee area resident, died Thursday afternoon, July 27, 2006 at the age of 97. She was born February 25, 1909 in Bruno, Arkansas to George and Mary (Parker) McEntire. She married Monroe Huskey on November 5, 1932 in Arkansas and in 1941 they moved their family to Okmulgee. Monroe preceded her in death in March of 1956. She loved being a homemaker, especially quilting and gardening and reading her bible. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Huskey was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Ann Huskey, five sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her children, W.G. Huskey and wife Oleta of Ft. Gibson, Odis Huskey of Okmulgee, Gus Huskey and wife Kathy of Okmulgee and Mary Dell and husband Paul Witt of Morris, a sister, Vesta Hensley of Pyatt, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 18 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Okemah Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Casketbearers will be grandsons.
