Jack H. Jamison
Jack H. Jamison was born November 18, 1927 in Tularosa, New Mexico to M.D. and Maude (Harlan) Jamison. He died Monday evening, March 15, 2004 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital at the age of 76. Jack moved to Beggs with his family at a young age and graduated from Beggs High School. He served in the United States Navy and married Mary Lou Thompson on November 21, 1948. Jack was a rancher in Beggs for many years and was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Beggs. He was a Gideon, as well as serving on the Beggs School Board, Rural Water Board and a member of the Beggs Lodge 319. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim and two sisters, Lois and Betty. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of the home, a son, Rusty Jamison and wife Carolyn of Beggs, two daughters, Melody Varner and husband Sam of Bristow and Merrily Shelby and husband Troy of Madill, a brother, Bill Jamison and wife Louise of Broken Arrow, two sisters, Vera Harvey of Beggs and Mary Nell Rackleff and husband George of Tulsa, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 19, 2004 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Garnet Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Beggs Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Jack’s "Misfits" Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Gideons International, Box 65, Okmulgee or the Boyle Mission House c/o the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
