Helen Marie Johnson
Helen Marie Johnson 74, resident of Okmulgee, died in Tulsa on Sunday, August 20, 2006. She was born in Okmulgee on June 12, 1932 to Chester and Flora (McGuire) Goddard. Helen married Jody Johnson in Sand Springs, Oklahoma on November 20, 1966. Helen will be remembered for her zest for life, love of family and friends, her church, horses and her work. She was involved in many things. A long time member of the Okmulgee Roundup Club and the Square Dance club. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, being active in the W Mís, Joy Fellowship, and the church Choir. She had retired from being the Service Coordinator for the Deep Fork Community Action, and was presently owner-operator of Helenís Final Touch. Her parents, a daughter Pam Williams and a sister Wynona Shoemake and one grandchild Stephanie Acker preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband Jody of the home, three daughters Sue Lucas of Harrison, Arkansas, Diane Raney of Checotah, Ann Smith of Okmulgee, a son Mike Johnson of Moore, Oklahoma, grand children Shannon Gillenwater, Stephen Gillenwater, Tim Gaskins, Jennifer Cunningham, Donna McBeath, Rebecca Smith, Adrian Raney and Rick Lewis, great grandchildren Gage Gaskins, Katie Gaskins, Seth Gillenwater, Nathan Gillenwater, Cannon Gillenwater Brittany Raney, Kyle Raney Ashley Acker, Jerame Acker, ReBecca Weese, Jordan Hickman, Chelsea McBeath, Jackson McBeath, J.T. Lucas, Zachary Lucas and one great great grandson Roper Young, other relatives and scores of friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 2 PM at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. James Van Hooser and Bro. Bythel Friend officiating. Burial will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 12- 8 PM at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
