Genevieve Ledbetter
Genevieve Ledbetter, 80, died Wednesday,
October 10, 2007 in Okmulgee. She was born in Choctaw,
Oklahoma on February 4, 1927 to Manley Wilson and Almira
Amelia (Summers) Stanley. She graduated from Nuyaka High
School in 1945 and attended Oklahoma A & M College in
Stillwater. Genevieve began her career in banking with the
Central National Bank of Okmulgee and was employed for many
years and retired from the First National Bank of Okmulgee.
She was an active member of the First National Retiree
Group, the Ball Group, the Nuyaka School Alumni Association,
the Nuyaka Mission Historical Association and the First
Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband,
James Harry Ledbetter, her parents, a sister Ocie Olivia
Stanley, and a brother Thomas Clinton Stanley. She is
survived by her son Phillip Ledbetter and wife Anita of
Okmulgee, two sisters; Deloise Courson of Tulsa, and Lucille
Cypert of Nuyaka, two grandchildren; Travis Harmon, and
Jonathan Warnock, three nieces; Yvonne Sowder of Okemah,
Glenna Ritter of Nuyaka, and Myra Gregory also of Nuyaka,
and five nephews; Wilson Cypert of Schulter, Charles Courson
of Stilwell, Thomas Stanley of Dallas, Johnny Stanley of
Okmulgee, and Jerry Stanley of Glenpool. Services will by
Monday at 10:30 AM at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee
with Dr. Dennis Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at
the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.
