John Lee Lewis

John Lee Lewis 67, a resident of Leon, Oklahoma died in Morris on September 2, 2006. He was born in Warner, Oklahoma on July 8, 1939 to Thomas Jefferson and Ola Mae (Rutherford) Lewis. John was self-employed in the construction business. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving seven assignments to Vietnam and receiving the Purple Heart. His parents, a brother Bill Lewis and a granddaughter Amy Woffard preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Norene Lewis of the home in Leon, Oklahoma, five daughters Sheri Lewis of Hawaii, Terri and husband Arron Hewlen of Oregon, Christina and husband Marty Woffard of Gore, OK, Dee Dee and husband Johnny Swarer of Coweta, OK and Laura Manning of Morris, OK, one son, John Lewis Jr. of Fayetteville, AR, five brothers Jim Lewis and Bob Lewis of Vian, Tommy Lewis of Barstow, CA, Jerry Lewis of Muldrow, OK, Ed Lewis of Pawhuska, OK two sisters Sue Noisey of Vian, OK and Edna Rowell of Lemoore, CA, three step children Latrisha Lane and William Robison both of Ringling, OK and Nicholas Abshire of Leon, OK and 15 grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery at 10 AM Friday, September8, 2006. McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Okmulgee, OK is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made at
