"Dignity without compromise"
Joyce A. LuMaye, Morris resident, passed away Wednesday evening, September 4, 2002 at Tulsa Regional Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 76. She was born July 16, 1926 in Algoma, Wisconsin to Fred William and Elsie (Strehlow) DeVillers. She grew up and attended high school and college in Greenbay and Algoma, Wisconsin. She married Donald Raymond LuMaye, who was a Veteran of the Japanese Prison Camps of World War II, and in 1947 they moved to Simi Valley, California. In 1999 she moved to Okmulgee County. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Fred and Bill DeVillers.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Frazier of Beggs, Oklahoma and Virginia Burkman of Marshall, Texas, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 7, 2002 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Wilburn, of the First United Methodist Church of Morris, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
