Peggy Ann Lyda

Peggy Ann Lyda died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in Tulsa. Peggy was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Albert and Bernice (Harjo) Thomas on June 2, 1940. She was married to Recy Don Lyda on November 10, 1971 in Durant, Oklahoma. Peggy is survived by her husband Recy, of the home, three daughters, Sherry Guffey of Okmulgee, Cindy Brown and husband Kevin of Morris, and Tara Allen and husband Jeff of Okmulgee. She is also survived by two brothers, John Thomas of Red Oak, Texas, Loy Thomas of Okmulgee and two sisters, Lois Thomas of Okmulgee and Carolyn Thomas also of Okmulgee. Peggy has three grand children, Jeffrey Quintin Allen, Meredith Lyda, and Skyler Allen all of Okmulgee. She was preceded in death by her Parents and one sister Reba Thomas. Pallbearers will include Victor Thomas, Shawn Thomas, Christopher Thomas, Albert Thomas, Zackery Thomas, and Eric Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Quintin Allen and Skyler Allen. Peggy was a lifetime member of the Wetumka Indian Baptist Church. Services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
