Jimmy Manns, Okmulgee resident, died Thursday morning, September 15, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 44 years of age. Jimmy was born September 28, 1960 in Denver, Colorado to Marvin William and Mary Jo (Mann) Manns. He graduated from Wilson High School in May of 1978. He had worked for Bartlett-Collins for the past 21 years. He married Debbie Hamon in October 1984 in Okmulgee. Jimmy was an active member of the Okmulgee Elks Lodge, where he was Past Exalted Ruler and formerly a trustee. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Manns and their daughter, Ashlee, of the home, his mother, Mary Jo Manns of Wilson, a brother, Jack Manns and wife Patsy of Wilson, three sisters, Virginia Porcelli and husband Mitch of Galveston, TX, Carolyn Burgess and Lorraine Conner, both of Wilson, and several special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 19, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee with Reverend Jack Vance officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Ms. Robbie Sterling. Interment will follow in the Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson. Casketbearers will be Marvin Sears, Randy Collins, Carl Shumaker, Robert Ferguson, Danny Johnston and Greg Murphy. Honorary Casketbearers will be Jim Bauman, Chuck Tiessen, Danny Fults, and Donnie Crawford.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks National Foundation, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. www.mcclendon-winters.com
