Charles Lee Martin
Charles Lee Martin, son of the
late Dan and Retha (Mount) Martin, was born on September 15, 1938 in Tahlequah,
Oklahoma, and departed this life Saturday, December 6, 2003, at
the age of 65. Charles married Janelle Reavis in December 1964. He was a
racehorse trainer and worked part-time for Brown’s Repair Inc. He loved his
family, and enjoyed his horses, cows, and dogs. He cherished his friendships
that he developed through the years. He was a member of the Morris United
Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Janelle, beloved sister
Carolyn Carlile and husband Russ of Tahlequah, son Lee Martin and wife Shirley
of Henryetta, daughter Jana Martin and husband Todd Buzan of Morris,
grandchildren Codi Ledford, Daniel Martin, Blaine Buzan, Mason Martin, and
Cheyanne Buzan, two aunts, Lois Virginia Gile and husband Jim of Wichita Falls,
Texas and Pearl Lorene Windham of Tacoma, Washington, many friends and a host of
other relative and loved ones. A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M.
Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the Morris United Methodist Church with Reverend
Gary O. Wilburn officiating. Interment will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the
Tahlequah City Cemetery, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Casketbearers will be Dwayne
Ausbrooks, Mike Bailey, Jack Crenshaw, Asa Durrett, Roy King, and Jerry Shoemake.
Honorary Casketbearers will be the 50/50 Sunday School Class of the Morris
United Methodist Church, including, Abe Davis, Carl King, Vance Haggard, Donny
Vaughn, and Bill Golden II; and Mike Brown, Larry Branson II, Bill Golden III,
and Jim Hoyst. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Morris, 421 South Hughes.
