Linda Janelle Martin

Linda Janelle Martin, 63, went to be with our Lord on December 23, 2005, after a long two-year battle with cancer. Janelle as she was known was born on February 24, 1942. She was the daughter of Veleda Burrows Reavis and Robert Lee "Bob" Reavis.

Janelle married Charles Lee Martin of Tahlequah. She obtained her Bachelors of Science Degree in education from Northeastern State University and was a math teacher for 34 years. She first taught at Locust Grove and spent the remaining thirty of those years at Morris Middle School. Teaching was not only her profession but also her love. She felt her co-workers were a part of her family. Her other love was horses when she started barrel racing in high school and it continued as she was also a partner, trainer, and owner with her husband in Martin Racing Stables. She spent many of her waking hours with the horses she loved.

Janelle was preceded in death by her mother; husband Charles, mother and father-in-law Retha and Dan Martin. She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son Lee Bob Martin and wife Shirley of Henryetta, Daughter Jana Martin and husband Todd Buzan, of Morris; father and stepmother Bob and Melva Reavis, of Stigler; a sister and husband Judy and Bill Hadley, also of Stigler; sister and brother in law Carolyn and Russ Carlile of Coweta. Grandchildren Codi and husband Mike Yandell, Daniel Martin, Blaine Buzan, Mason Martin, and Cheyanne Buzan all of Morris.

Funeral Services were Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Morris with the Reverend Linda Pope officiating. Interment will follow in the Tahlequah Cemetery.
