Betty Jo Maxwell

Betty Jo Maxwell, longtime resident of Okmulgee, died Wednesday morning, January 25, 2006 at her home. She was 66 years of age. She was born November 17, 1939 in Okemah to Harmon Connie and Ruby E. (Wilbourn) Griffin. Betty was a very selfless person who was always helping others. She was a very loving caregiver, who cared for many family members and neighbors and will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter, Trena Morris Keller, a grandson, Nakia Morris, and two brothers, Don and Harvey Dale Griffin. Survivors include her two sons, Quincy James Maxwell and Brent Ray Maxwell and wife J.J., all of Okmulgee, a daughter, Robin Masters and husband Jim of Tulsa, her mother, Ruby Griffin of Okmulgee, five grandchildren, James Roberts, Haley Maxwell, Madrina Maxwell, Shandy Maxwell, and Dylan Maxwell, and two great grandchildren, Dakota Lynn Roberts and Jordan Ryan Roberts. A graveside service will be held 1:30 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Jerry Back officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday starting at noon and on Friday morning. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
