     Zane McDaniel    

Zane Arlinda McDaniel, 65, died at his residence in Okmulgee on January 22, 2009.  Zane was born on the family homestead near Okmulgee Lake on January 2, 1944 to Zora Luther and Mary Jane (Reeves) McDaniel.  He is a veteran of the United States Army and was a rancher for years before retiring as a lineman/technician for Southwestern Bell.  Zane enjoyed gardening, fishing, and music, especially the guitar.  He was a member of the American Legion.

          Zane was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Justin Wheeler, and nine brothers and sisters.

          He is survived by a son, Zane E. McDaniel and wife Paula of Fairfax, daughter, Arlynda Sexton and husband Roger of Mannford, daughter, Rose E. Shipman and husband Mark of Belle Plaine, Kansas, daughter, Amanda JD McDaniel of Duncan, brother, Zack McDaniel of Ralston, sister, Sharon Barkasey of Philomath, Oregon, brother, Dale McDaniel of Okmulgee, brother, Roy McDaniel of Beggs, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a special companion Sharron Williams.

          Services will be on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee.  Reverend Ted Nolan will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Morse Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be Raymond McDaniel, Bradley Sexton, Damon McDaniel, Dillon McDaniel, LoganWheeler, and Deton McDaniel.  Viewing will be on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.  Arrangements are under the direction of McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.  Online condolences may be made at www.mcclendon-winters.com
