Eric Sean McDowell

Eric Sean McDowell, 38 years, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, died October 1, 2007 at OMH ER after a short illness following surgery. He was born December 27, 1968 in Okmulgee to Sue (Bell) McDowell and Glenn McDowell. Sean graduated from Okmulgee High School (class of 1987), furthered his education at OSU TECH. After working many years on different highway (road crews), he decided on truck driving as his profession. He worked for Blue Diamond Trucking out of Tulsa; becoming their office manager in 2002; a job in which he took pride and loved. Sean even started his own business, escorting oversized loads when needed, in March of this year. Sean is survived by his loving wife of Twelve years, Angela (Grandfield) McDowell; one beautiful replication of a son, Eric Hagen McDowell; mother and dad, Sue and Larry Myers; one beloved sister, Jolene Carter; grandparents, Gerald and Joyce McDowell; granny, Helen Myers; brother-in-law Clayton Carter, nephew Tyler Carter, niece Tiffany Carter; sister-in-law Monika Kekahbah, brother-in-law Charles Kekahbah, nephew Braden Kekahbah; mother-in-law Inge Grandfield; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and many special, close friends and family. Sean’s witty personality and humor will be missed by all who knew him for even a moment. Sean enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching baseball for Eric’s team, 4-wheeling, watching OU football, and mostly spending quality time with friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday October 5, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Okmulgee. Interment will follow at Okmulgee cemetery. Pallbearers include Thomas Howell, Travis Lineberger, Charles Kekahbah, Tim Kisner, Jeff Henning, Donnie Sortore, Keith Kabe, and Tyler Beal. Honarary pallbears are James Lunney, Dickey Howell, and Jim Lineberger. Contributions may be made to the charity of choice. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 12 to 8.
