"R.Q." Reasie Queen Miller

"R.Q." Reasie Queen Miller, 78, a resident of Beggs, died in Okmulgee on Thursday, June 9, 2005. She was born in Morris, Oklahoma January 29, 1927 to Arthur and Pearlie (Sayles) Miller. She attended Shady Grove and Morning Star rural schools, and graduated from Wheatley High School in Beggs. In the early fifties, she went to St. Louis, Missouri where she lived for a number of years. She married Theophilus Miller in 1968. In 1972, she returned to Oklahoma. In 1993, she united with First Baptist South and remained a member. Her husband, parents, six brothers, two sisters, and a number of nieces and nephews preceded her in death.

Survivors include one brother, Telon and his wife Elizabeth Miller of Beggs, four sisters-in-law, Mary Miller of Oxnard, California, Esther House, Thelma Johnson and Dorine Miller all of St. Louis, Missouri, two step-daughters Sharon Franklin and Linda Staton of Chicago, Illinois. A number of grand and great-grandchildren, a godchild Nona Rice Maris and two children of St. Louis, Missouri, an adopted sister Camille Mingelton of Tulsa and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Special to her were Sylvester Goudeau, Pearlie and Kaby "Peaches" Daniels, Mary Lou Miller and Rosie Miller.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at 11 am at the First Baptist South Church in Beggs, Oklahoma. Rev. Maurice Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Visitation will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 10 until 8 pm.
