Willard Miller

Willard Eugene Miller, 91, of the Baptist Village, died Tuesday morning, August 5, 2008 at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. He was born February 21, 1917 in Tulsa to James Ervin and Mary Cordelia (Dunbar) Miller. He served in the United States Army during World War II and later retired as a strip coal miner. He married Ruby Winford on May 11, 1948. Willard enjoyed carving peach seeds and was well known for his vegetable garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and siblings. Graveside rites will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Mike Kennedy officiating. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post 1189 of Okmulgee and VFW Post 539 of Henryetta. Friends may visit the funeral home on Thursday from 12-8 P.M. Arrangements are under he direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
