Dianna Jean Milligan

Dianna Jean Milligan, longtime resident of Okmulgee county, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday evening, November 6, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Her four-year battle with breast cancer is now over and she is victorious. She was born September 16, 1949 in Okmulgee to the late George and Geneva Mode (Taylor) Dawson. She married Ronald Harold Milligan on December 15, 1967 in Pasadena, California. She enjoyed a 14 year career as a teacher at Preston Public Schools. She was a faithful, founding member of the Preston Assembly of God and enjoyed crafting, shopping, and playing with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Richard and Kenneth Dawson.

Dianna is survived by her husband, Ronald, of the home; a son, Dr. Thomas Milligan and wife Patricia of Cleveland, Ohio; and two daughters, Tracy McElhannon and husband Rev. Eddie of Preston, and Tiffany Castleberry and husband Dr. Jerry of Preston. Her seven grandchildren include Molly and Andy McElhannon, Benjamin, Emma, Lauren, and Luke Castleberry and Thomas Finn Milligan. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Taylor of Preston and Patricia Miller of Long Beach, California and a brother, Gary Dawson of Okmulgee.

A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Eddie L. McElhannon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Preston Assembly of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 150, Preston, Oklahoma 74456. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
