Jessie May Morris

Jessie May Morris, longtime Okmulgee resident, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at her home. She was 73 years of age. Jessie was born March 22, 1932 to Homer and Emma (Gage) Reid in Okfuskee County. She graduated from Pharoah High School. She married Robert Morris on September 20, 1951 and they made their home in Okmulgee. She was a clerk at C.R. Anthony for 35 years and after retiring went to work at Okmulgee Day Care, where she worked for seven years. She was a member of the Grovania Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed being with her family.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a brother, Olen Reid and a grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, of the home, five children, Dorothy Snyder and husband Jack Snyder, Jr. of Mishawaka, IN., Teresa Buckbee and husband Don of Ill., Debra Cole and husband Doug of Bridge City, TX., Robert Morris and wife Pat of Kansas City, MO., and Timothy Morris of the home, eleven siblings, Havner Reid of Earlsboro, Dortha Chunn of Oklahoma City, Ruth Ford of Okemah, Bessie Ennis of Schulter, Margie Ennis of Kellyville, Cecil Reid of Perkins, Emma Jean Morris of Huntsville, TX, Henry Reid of Bella Vista, AR., Mary Sue Upton of Sapulpa, Fred Reid of Cookson, and Ida Casey of Wylie, TX., 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
