Henry Morton
Henry Carrell Morton, a resident of Henryetta, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at
Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. He was 72
years of age. Henry was born December
17, 1936 in Tucson, Arizona to Allen LeRoy and Bonnie Mae (Latta) Morton.
He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Union and worked as a
contract plumber until his early retirement due to an injury.
He moved his family to Oklahoma in 1965 from Texas.
He enjoyed whittling and woodworking, art, and time spent with his
sons-in-law. Preceding him in death were
his parents and a son-in-law, Jerry Umsted.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Dolly Louise (Kruger) Morton of
Weleetka, step-children, Cathryn Umsted of Okmulgee, Ronnie Brown and wife Carol
of Okmulgee and Phyllis Carson and husband Bill of Weleetka, eight
step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
The Family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday evening at the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the Dumas Cemetery, Dumas, Texas under the direction of the
McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
