William Dwight ‘Bill’ Perkins

William Dwight ‘Bill’ Perkins was a resident of Okmulgee, born April 9, 1929 to Samuel Aaron and Lynde Perkins in Caledonia, Miss. Brother Bill went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 26, 2005.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters; Alma Semler and Thelma McCullough and son Michael Dewayne Perkins.

Brother Bill was a retired minister and contractor. His hobbies included gardening, flying small aircraft, and racing dirt track cars. Until his going home he was an active member of Okmulgee Pentecostal Church of GOD. Brother Bill served the church as a church elder and adult Sunday school teacher.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nancy Perkins, of the home, Daughter; Glenda Gale Perkins Mariano and husband Vic of Okmulgee, Son; William Dwight Perkins Jr. and wife Jeanne of Foley, Alabama. Five grandchildren; Victor Mariano, Jr. of Edmond, Ok., Michael Mariano of Okmulgee, Leslie Perkins Johnson of McComb, Miss., Matthew Perkins of Foley, Alabama and Jennifer Perkins Whalen of Foley, Alabama and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostal Church of GOD, 1111 W. 11th in Okmulgee. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at McClendon-Winters funeral home.
