Sibyl L. Parish Perkins
Sibyl L. Parish Perkins, Okmulgee, died Wednesday morning, September 14, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was 88 years of age. Mrs. Perkins was born July 8, 1917 in Morganton, Arkansas to Ellis and Eva (Lesley) Parish. She married William Perkins on May 12, 1944 in Little Rock. She and her husband spent many years in San Bernardino, California, where she worked for the State of California at Patton State Hospital as a supervisor. They moved to Okmulgee in 1973. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Morris and an active member of the Nuyaka Alumni. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William, in 1989. Survivors include her daughter, Frances Beasley, of Morris, two grandsons, Mitchell Beasley and wife Millicent and Mark Beasley and wife Angie, ten great grandchildren, Carmen Burgess and husband Josh, Chance Beasley and wife Tiffany, Marki and McKenzie Beasley, Jessica, Chris, Dena and Eric Landers, Christyn Barnett and Byjou Vaughn, two great great grandchildren, Kolby and Keegan Burgess, two sisters, Ima VanSickle and Kate Hill and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 17, 2005 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Scott Harjo officiating. Interment will follow in the Okmulgee Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Chris Landers, Josh Burgess, Bo Clark, Daryl Tarpalchee, Mitchell Beasley, Bill Thomas, Mike Thomas and Chance Beasley.
