Loretta June (Rose) Perkins

Loretta June (Rose) Perkins 66, a longtime resident of Beggs died in Tulsa on Thursday, March 27, 2003. She was born in Beggs on April 2, 1936 to Orvel and Velma Marie (Saladin) Rose. She married Elmer Perkins on February 14, 1953. She was a member of the Town and Country Christian Church. Mrs. Perkins worked at the Okmulgee Wal-Mart Super Center for eight years, retiring in 2002. her parents and a son Kelmer Dee Perkins, a brother Don Rose and a sister Frances Sadler preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband Elmer Perkins of the home, a daughter and son in law Ona and David Harris of Dallas, Texas, a granddaughter Haley Diane Harris of Dallas, one grandson and his wife Paul Wade and Michelle Bixler Harris of Chicago, Illinois and two great granddaughters Colleen Mary Harris and Olivia Rose Harris of Chicago, two sisters Betty Withers and Ellen Kay Wesley both of Beggs.

Funeral Services will be at the Town & Country Christian Church in Okmulgee on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 at 2 pm. Rev. Bill Parks will officiate. Burial will be in the Beggs Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 until 8 pm, and on Monday from 9 until 5 pm at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home in Beggs. The family suggests memorials be made to the Kelmer Dee Perkins Library, in care of Town & Country Christian Church in Okmulgee.

Pallbearers will be Paul Wade Harris, James Brigance, Claude Brigance, Harold Watkins, Clay Allen, and David Perkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lester Daniels, Marine Daniels, C.W. Walters, Tim Craighton, Jimmy Crosslin, Merle Phillips, Larry Naumann, Buster Hammonds, and Glen Leist.
