"Dignity without compromise"

Myrna L. Phillips, a longtime resident of Oklahoma, died Wednesday, October 9, 2002. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on February 26, 1937 to Dan and Nora Lee Starns. She graduated with honors from Northside High School in Ft. Forth and attended T.C.U. where she studied nurses training.

Myrna and husband of 22 years, Jerry Phillips, had recently divorced but soon realized how much they loved one another and were planning to re-marry as soon as her health permitted. They were inseparable the last few days of her life.

She is survived by her loving mother and father, L.T. and Nora Mercer, and daughter Terri Berkholder of New Jersey and granddaughters, April Berkholder and Summer Berkholder, who are attending college.

Myrna had a great sense of humor and it was a pleasure to be with her. She was a small person in stature, but extremely big at heart, and was always busy doing something constructive. Her late father-in-law, bill whom she dearly loved, once said of Myrna," She can do more work(for a little woman) than anyone I ever knew", "She is a living doll".

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First United Methodist Church of Tulsa, where her many friends have been so helpful and understanding. She loved the church and her loyal friends. After a memorial service at the First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, her funeral will be held at a pre-determined burial site at Mount Olivant Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
