Shirley Thomasene Brown Pilkington was born January 1, 1937 to Thomas and Francis Brown in Coalgate, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on February 5, 2004 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her family moved to Morris in 1944, where Thomasene graduated from high school in 1955. She married Don Pilkington in 1956. They had two children from their union, Lynn Thomas, born in 1957 and Donna Jean born in 1958. Thomasene, known affectionately to her family and friends as Tommy, worked for years as a scrub technician in the Okmulgee County area. She later retired from the Okmulgee County Health Department. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morris. Tommy was preceded in death by her husband, Don, her sisters, Neva and Theda, a brother, Thomas John, and mother and father Francis and Thomas Brown,

Tommy is survived by a son, Lynn Pilkington of Morris, a daughter, Donna Jackson and husband Steve of Morris, three granddaughters, Codie Ausbrooks, Cory Pilkington and Brandy Pilkington and a grandson Justin Pilkington.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 9, 2004 at the Community of Christ Church, 5^th and Ozark in Morris with Mrs. Sheryl Shipley and Mr. Don Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Lloyd Holland, Jerry Holland, Ralph Johnston, Darrell Piett, Floyd Sharp, David Reynolds, Dwayne Ausbrooks. Friends may visit the funeral home from 1-8 P.M. on Sunday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
