Edna Kay Purvine

Edna Kay Purvine, a resident of Tulsa, died Friday evening, June 22, 2007 at St. John Medical Center. She was 79 years of age. Mrs. Purvine was born February 25, 1928 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Ed and Bertha Mae (Brown) Walinga. In the late 1940ís she worked in Oklahoma City as a bank teller and secretary. In 1955 she moved to Tulsa and on December 14, 1956 married Donald Jernigan Purvine. She enjoyed sewing and gardening as well as caring for the birds in her back yard. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nephew, David Tisdell, and sister and brother-in-law, Gladys Faye and Clifton Carroll Currin, Jr. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Glenda Faye Tisdell of Atoka, Clifton Carroll Currin III of Tulsa, Dina Marie Bassett and husband Brad of Sugar Land, Texas, and Michele Bridges and husband Clinton of Magnolia, Texas and her children Mica Richmond and Stanley Bridges, both of Magnolia. She is also survived by her special friend and dog, Gidget. Graveside rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. The family will receive friends from 7-8 P.M.
