Dr. Thomas K. Robinson

Dr. Thomas K. Robinson died Sunday morning, March 7, 2004 in Miami at the age of 54. He was born January 24, 1950 in San Diego, California to Jack W. and Gloria (McAlister) Robinson. He graduated from Miami High School in 1968, Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Physiology in 1972, and in 1976 he graduated from the first class of the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry. He taught Peridontics at OU for two years and in 1979 started his practice in Miami. He married Jackie Shipman on February 2, 1980 in Miami. Dr. Robinson was a member of the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart, the Miami Area Dental Society, Oklahoma Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He was a member of the NRA, had served as Troop Leader for the Boys Scouts of America and generously donated his services to countless individuals and organizations. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and snow skiing. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, traveling and was a private pilot. Preceding him in death was his mother, Gloria Robinson and step-mother Kay Robinson. Survivors include his wife, Jackie, of the home, his father, Dr. Jack Robinson of Miami, two sons, Christopher T. Robinson of Stillwater and Michael Evan Robinson of Miami, a brother, Timothy M. Robinson and Nancy L. Nichols of Tulsa, a sister, Mary S. Robinson and Angela Sivadon of Tulsa, two nephews, Adam Bohlender of Miami and Timothy Sharp of Dallas, mother and father-in-law, Betty and R.W. Patton of Miami, and a sister-in-law, Lee Patton of Miami.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Dr. Robinson will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 11, 2004 at the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart with Father Gregg Elliott officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Bouziden, Bill Harsch, John McFerron, Damon Montgomery, Jim Thompson, Rodney Street, and Vern Lee. A special remembrance to the Class of 1976 OU School of Dentistry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dean Robertson Foundation at the OU School of Dentistry for a Scholarship Fund in Dr. Robinsonís name. Contributions may be sent to the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home, 303 E. Seventh, Okmulgee, OK 74447.
