Betty Roe 74, a longtime resident of Beggs, died at Beggs Tuesday, July 24, 2007. She was born in Negley, Texas on June 26, 1933 to Charles Nicklaus and Velma (White) Dawson. She married C.D. Roe in DeQueen, Arkansas on October 16, 1949. Mrs. Roe was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Beggs. She was loved by her spouse, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. Her parents, a brother Doug Dawson and a sister Bonnie Gamble preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband C. D. Roe of the home, three sons; David and wife Joann Roe of Fulton, MO, Glen and wife Julie Roe, Beggs, OK, Rick and wife Nita Roe of Mounds, OK, a daughter; Cookie and husband Lowell of Hampshire, TN, two brothers Charles and wife Sandra Dawson of Clarksville, TX, Gary and wife Margie Dawson of Idabel, OK, two sisters; Patti and husband Jimmie Pugh, Idabel, OK, Jodie and husband Bill Tyler of Valliant, OK, one grandson Brian Roe of Mounds, OK, six grand daughters; Tina Harris of Mounds, OK, Priscilla Whitfield, Bossier City, LA, Alyssa Roe of Beggs, OK, Ericka Roe of Mounds, OK, Christian Rice of Evansville, Indiana, Whitney Cole of Hampshire, TN and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 11 AM at the Church of God of Prophecy in Beggs. Matt Stockton will officiate. Interment will be in the Beggs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chuck Dawson, Doug Dawson Jr. Jimmy Scott, Brian Scott, Chance Pugh, Duston Dawson and Chad Dawson. Funeral services are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.
